As you may know, Richard Waller, a very active squash and racketball, suffered a spinal cord injury in January 2017 which has left him unable to walk.
A cellular treatment has been recommended using marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells. This is a lengthy and complicated procedure which must be carried out in the USA or Germany. In addition to this Richard requires regular physiotherapy and aqua treatment as well as adaptations to his home.
Rob Shay and Roy Burns are organising a One-day Racketball Event on Saturday 16th September at Edgbaston Priory to help raise funds for his treatment. Entry will be £20, and can be made via a donation to this page. It will be a social tournament, mainly doubles, so that we can get as many people playing as possible! As Richard is well known through the Squash and Racketball community around Birmingham, it’s open to any players who want to join in, not just EPC members.
If you don’t want to play, but would still like to help Richard with his ongoing treatment, please make a contribution to this page:
I hope like us you will help our great friend to receive the sort of treatment he needs for hope of a true recovery.
