U13 French Junior Open Champion – Alhassan Khalil

A massive congratulations to Alhassan! He beat fellow Brit, Oliver Green of Essex [5/8], 3/2 in the finals in Lille. The match lasted 52 minutes.

The French Junior Open is the second biggest squash tournament after the British Open. It was held in Lille in February this year.

Alhassan was seeded 9/16 in a draw of 64 players He managed to win against a number 3/4 seed from Turkey. He then went through two tough matches against the top Egyptian players, both were seeded 9/16.

This win makes Alhassan the 3rd English player to win this tournament (BU13) since 1994.

At the start of 2016 Alhassan was No. 31in the European Squash Federation’s rankings.

He is currently No. 3.
